Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commitee

The goal of the project is to create an ad campaign to convince others that they should volunteer their time to help to protect the wildlife of Florida through conservation efforts. The target audience is men and women in ages 20-30, people who are environmentally conscious and willing to give their time for a greater cause. This campaign message is conveyed by combining visuals of illustrated animals and the aesthetics of a workers’ compensation ad collection. The campaign takes a comedic approach with its marketing in an attempt to avoid viewers from feeling as though they’re being manipulated to feel sad, and instead aims to give them satisfaction in putting their efforts towards a good cause. Visually, the illustrations made for the campaign are created to parody workers comp in a way that ties back to conservation, giving recognizable Florida wildlife bandages and showing medical care in a way that humanizes the creatures.

Media like pop up ads and brochures help it to reach an audience that will have both the time and drive to assist in conservation. Aesthetically, the project maintains a brighter and more light hearted style in an attempt to keep it from coming off as depressing, in an effort to make it come off as less of a tragedy and can’t be avoided and more as a problem that can be helped to fix, presenting a more uplifting and somewhat comical way of showing what can be done for animals hurt by human interference.
